Career

Ruth Duque is a Spanish state insurance inspector on leave of absence. She is former deputy director of the Spanish Directorate-General of Insurance and Pension Funds.

Throughout her career, she has worked with important national and international clients on M&A transactions, bancassurance alliances, reinsurance agreements, portfolio assignments, reorganizations and corporate matters of all kinds. In the area of regulatory, she has advised on product design both for life and non-life insurance, contract interpretation, insurance and reinsurance distribution, pension plans and funds, as well as on proceedings with the Spanish Directorate-General of Insurance and Pension Funds.

She also advises insurance and reinsurance companies on insurance claims (P&C, PI, D&O, E&O and cyber insurance), analyzing coverage, and handling recollection and actions of all kinds, in complex matters highly relevant for the sector and for clients.

She is a member of the Professional Association of State Insurance Inspectors. She is registered in the Official Auditors Registry (not practicing) and is a member of the Madrid Bar Association.
