Able to draw upon the expertise of eight core restructuring partners, as well as leveraging its impressive overarching acquisition finance offering and international reach, Latham & Watkins (London) LLP can ‘navigate the most complex deals in the market’ for creditors, debtors and investors. Yen Sum ’excels at fostering collaboration’ between stakeholders with competing interests, which in turn ensures she is able to achieve ‘unparalleled results’ for lenders and bondholders in complex cross-border restructurings, liability management exercises and special situations. David Wallace and Jennifer Brennan are also key to the firm’s success for bondholder committees and funds, with Wallace benefiting from excellent insight into the commercial drivers of the private credit space through his previous tenure at Alcentra. ’Highly knowledgeable’ team head Bruce Bell also handles some creditor work, but is best-known for his skill at helping corporate debtors extricate themselves from financial difficulty, including through the utilisation of Schemes of Arrangement.
