Position

Yen Sum, Global Chair of the Private Capital Practice, delivers comprehensive guidance on deploying private capital across all asset classes, particularly involving cross-border structures.

Yen draws on more than 25 years of experience and a sophisticated understanding of the private capital arena to advise senior management, private equity sponsors, credit funds, and hedge funds on:

  • Capital solutions for investors and company balance sheets, divisions, and assets
  • Corporate restructurings and turnarounds
  • Private credit and hybrid instrument products
  • M&A and buyouts, acquisition finance, and fund investments

Yen structures innovative, multifaceted solutions across corporate balance sheets and manages divergent stakeholder interests. She has led or participated in notable transactions involving investments into and within multi-layered capital structures; hybrid investments; public and private securities; liability management transactions; and in- and out-of-court processes to implement complex capital solutions.

Yen also spent several years as an investment professional in Barclays Capital’s Leveraged Finance business, where she engaged in numerous buyouts, refinancings, and recapitalizations.
