USCIS updated its count of FY2012 cap-subject H-1B petitions and advanced degree cap-exempt petitions. As of October 14, 2011, approximately 43,300 H-1B cap-subject petitions were receipted. USCIS has receipted 19,600 H-1B petitions for aliens with advanced degrees. Thus, the advanced degree quota is almost full. It looks like the regular quota will be reached by the end of the year or in early January as in the past few years.
