Information On Diversity Visa Lottery Registration (DV-2019)

The State Department will accept electronic applications for the Fiscal Year 2019 Diversity Visa (DV) lottery from Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 12 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time until Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at 12 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Individuals may submit only one application, which must be filed electronically at dvlottery.state.gov during this period. Paper entries will not be accepted. Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply as early as possible.

There are no costs to register for the lottery. All applications must be accompanied by a passport-style digital photograph of the applicant (taken within 6 months), the applicant's spouse and each unmarried child under the age of 21 (who is not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident).
