The Desk: June Edition

We are very excited to announce the addition of Stuart Armstrong* to Moore & Van Allen's Derivatives Team. Today is his first day! Stuart will be based at MVA's Charlotte office and joins us from a large swap dealer's in-house team where he advised on both the regulatory and transactional elements of derivatives trading and hedging and structured derivatives, as well as commodity trading, commodity finance and trade finance transactions involving metals, energy and agricultural products.

Prior to being in-house, Stuart served as Special Counsel at the CFTC where he was responsible for advising the CFTC Chairman and Commissioners on futures and swaps regulation, derivatives market oversight, and drafting and implementing regulations under the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.
