The 63rd Wyoming Legislature will convene on January 13, 2015
for its 2015 General Session. Among the current proposals is
a bill reiterating the importance of workplace safety.
The Casper Star Tribune reports that workplace
safety rose to the forefront of the 2012 legislative agenda after
Wyoming was continually ranked one of the most dangerous states in
which to work.
The Joint Labor, Health & Social Services Interim Committee
have sponsored a bill proposal which provides for a $50,000
civil fine on companies for committing a violation of any health
and safety standard that materially contributes to causing the
death of an employee.
The attorneys of the Fox Rothschild LLP Energy and Natural
Resources Practice group will monitor the progression of this
proposal throughout the upcoming legislative session. Stay
