Climate Change Levy

will be introduced in April 2001.

The levy will be based on coal, gas and electricity consumption and may lead to substantial costs being incurred by industry.

Pesticides Tax or Charge

. This is likely to be announced in the Budget for 2000. The Government considered external costs of pesticides could amount to £300M per year. The proposed revenue could be levied at £6 per kilo.
