The new Compensation Bill published on 3 November by the Department for Constitutional Affairs sets out a proposed legislative framework for the regulation of claims management companies. The Department has stated that one of the first areas where regulation will be applied is in relation to employment claims. The aim is to tackle the bad practices that have been a common feature of the sector. Hopefully this Regulation will eliminate the worst abuses of employment claims "consultants" bringing misguided or spurious claims for employees against employers.

This only applies in England and Wales.
