Entry To Ukraine Regulated

UkraineStrategy
According to new regulations, entry of foreign nationals to Ukraine is now subject to availability of a visa or invitation. Nationals of countries which concluded visa free agreements require only an invitation. Within three days upon arrival in Ukraine, the passport of the foreign national must be registered by the Ukrainian authorities (local militia office, hotel, Ministry of Foreign Affairs) depending on the status of the foreigner and purpose of the visit to Ukraine. Foreigners are free to travel within Ukraine except to restricted areas, entry to which is subject to special clearance. The regulations take effect 1 February 1996. (Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No 1074 of 29 December 1995).
