2015年12月17日，墨西哥国家油气委员会（Comisión Nacional de Hidrocarburos-CNH）公布了令人期待的深海区块第一轮招标的投标规则。墨西哥首轮第四期招标（CNH-R01-L04/2015）将包括10个深海区块。其中4个区块位于Cinturón Plegado Perdido区域（在塔毛利帕斯州海岸，靠近和美国的海洋边界处），6个区块位于Cuenca Salina区域（韦拉克鲁斯州和塔巴斯科州之间的海岸）。这些区块的水深在1500 米到3000米之间。
