Distinguish between the various types of gambling permitted in your jurisdiction – defining as applicable betting, gaming and lotteries. In this regard, classification of gambling products is an area of particular difficulty, since the terms 'skill game', 'gaming' and so on are sometimes used differently and treated differently as a matter of law. We ask authors to try to use terms in a uniform way, or at least to explain them so that a reader can compare 'like with like' against their own legal vocabulary. Also explain, if possible, how the following are defined in law – either as forms of betting, gaming or lotteries, or as separate products:
