Please note that non-European Economic Area citizens who wish to travel over Christmas time and require an Irish Residence Permit Card (IRP Card) to re-enter Ireland should submit their application for an IRP Card latest by October 31, 2025 to ensure they receive their new IRP card in time for their travel.

Due to an existing backlog at the relevant authority, it can take three to four weeks for an application to be processed, followed by further about two weeks for the IRP card to be delivered.
