With effect from September 1, 2024, the Walloon Region has significantly relaxed the regulations for work permits.

Below you will find the most important changes:

New work permit exemptions
Greater flexibility for low or medium-skilled foreign worker
Relaxed requirements for applying for an EU Blue Card, including shorter contract periods, relaxed rules for changing employers and new ways to gain work experience for applicants in the information technology sector

and

New pathways to work experience for intracorporate transferee EU permit holders and highly skilled individual permit holders.
