Introduction of Digital Nomad Visa
Due to the COVID-19-pandemic, many companies are increasingly
confronted with the wishes of their employees to work remotely from
abroad for an extended period. The desire for "Remote Work
Abroad" is not only felt by employees, but also by
self-employed individuals.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, many countries, such as
Greece and France, have taken up the «Remote Work
Abroad» issue and introduced visa categories such as
"Remote Work Visa" or "Digital Nomad Visa".
Now, Italy has followed this trend and will introduce a
"Digital Nomad Visa" by the end of April 2022.
The "Digital Nomad Visa" will allow employees or
self-employed individuals in Italy to work for an employer
respectively client outside of Italy. The visa is issued for one
year. Applications for the visa can be submitted after the
publication of the decree by the end of April 2022.
