New work permit policy to prolong processing times

Background: Last year, Bermuda’s Ministry of Immigration issued a new work permit policy, which took effect on November 1, 2025, and introduced several significant changes regarding procedures and compliance requirements for employers and foreign nationals. Under this updated policy, the length of stay for business travelers has been shortened, and as of November 1, 2025, foreign nationals are no longer permitted to remain in Bermuda while their initial work permit is being processed. Additionally, restrictions on changing employers have been expanded.

In light of recent developments, we would like to inform you that this restriction was lifted in May 2026.
