Abertura e encerramento de contas de depósitos pela internet

No âmbito do programa "Otimiza BC", lançado pelo Banco Central do Brasil ("BACEN") em fevereiro de 2013, cujo principal objetivo é reduzir os custos operacionais e de observância do sistema financeiro brasileiro, o BACEN publicou em 25 de abril de 2016 a Resolução do Conselho Monetário Nacional ("CMN") nº. 4.480 ("Res. 4.480").

A Res. 4.480 confere às instituições financeiras e demais instituições autorizadas a funcionar pelo BACEN a opção de fazer uso de meios eletrônicos (sem qualquer contato presencial entre cliente e instituição) para abertura e encerramento de contas de depósitos de pessoas físicas. Tal flexibilização não está disponível para pessoas jurídicas. Pelo menos não por enquanto.
