AVL - Engine Development In Half The Time
AVL List has achieved what was once considered impossible in the automotive industry: its new design software is expected to reduce engine development time from five years to just 30 months. The world's largest independent engine R&D center, with 2000 workers, estimates that the new software's deployment will reduce new engine development costs by 30%.
1996 revenues at the Graz center, whose customers include all of Europe's major auto manufacturers, rose to ATS 3.4 billion (US$ 261 million) from 3.2 billion (US$ 246 million) the previous year.
