The Building Services Authority estimates that at least 60% of seriously defective building work is attributable to ineffective supervision of building sites. Recent amendments to the Queensland Building Services Authority Act aim to address this concern.

New rules affecting the supervision of building sites came into effect on 21 December 2007.
