As we highlighted in our last article, Property & Projects: What to expect in 2014, the Queensland Government is undertaking a review of the State's property laws.

The Queensland Government has released the first two of four Issues Papers:

  • Issues Paper 1—Seller Disclosure in Queensland
  • Issues Paper 2—Lot Entitlements under the Body Corporate Community Management Act 1997.

Issues Paper 1 considers the current seller disclosure regime in Queensland. It investigates whether the regime "contributes to an effective sale and conveyancing process" and ultimately whether or not there is the need for reform. Feedback on this paper closes on 21 March 2014.

Issues Paper 2 addresses the "options for the regulation of the setting, adjustment and review of lot entitlements under the Body Corporate Community Management Act 1997". Feedback on this paper closes on 14 March 2014.
