Senior Family Clerk As Senior Family Clerk, I have responsibility for the clerking and practice management of a team of 47 barristers, including two Silks, supported by two Family Clerks. My role encompasses the effective management of barristers’ diaries and workloads, allocation of cases, fee negotiation and maintaining strong relationships with solicitors and professional clients. I work closely with both counsel and clients to ensure that cases are allocated appropriately, taking into account expertise, experience, availability, and the particular requirements of each matter. A significant part of my role is supporting the long-term development of individual practices. I hold regular discussions with barristers about their career aspirations, identifying opportunities to develop or specialise in particular areas of family law and working with them to formulate strategies for practice progression.

Senior Clerk, Court of Protection My role specialises in Court of Protection (senior clerk) and Family law, and part of my role is to make sure that cases run smoothly, hearings are covered by appropriately experienced counsel, and the business side of the team is managed in an efficient way.   The clerking teams within CoP and Family are approachable, efficient and helpful. In Court of Protection, I am very ably assisted by Neve Robinson and we strive to provide the best service for our clients.   My approach to clerking is generally calm and considered. First and foremost, I strive to facilitate clients and counsel but to also get to know clients on a personal level and develop professional relationships.
