Position
Melissa has recently joined chambers and is developing a practice in employment law.
Prior to joining Park Square Melissa spent three years working as a lawyer at the Government Legal Department, where she specialised in public law and financial services. In that role, Melissa gained extensive experience in advising on complex statutory and regulatory frameworks, analysing decision-making by public bodies and dealing with complex procedural issues. This background provides a strong foundation for her practice in employment law, particularly in matters involving unfair dismissal and discrimination.
Melissa also spent time as a criminal barrister. During this time, she developed advocacy skills, including effective cross-examination, oral submissions and the ability to handle contested hearings with confidence. Melissa can identify key issues under pressure and present clear, persuasive arguments.
Melissa has a calm and methodical approach, strong attention to detail and ability to communicate complex legal issues clearly and sensitively. She welcomes instructions in employment law and looks forward to developing this area of practice.

Melissa is experienced in dealing with litigants in person, identifying the real issues in dispute and presenting arguments in a clear and persuasive manner.
Melissa undertakes civil work including small claims, road traffic accident, credit hire and other general civil matters. She has gained exposure to County Court procedure and is keen to build a broad civil practice within Chambers.
Melissa has a calm, practical approach and a strong attention to detail. She is able to provide clear and proportionate advice.
