Jason transferred to the Bar in March 2022 after working as a Solicitor for more than 18 years before that.

Prior to transferring he was a Partner in the catastrophic injury department of a central Manchester law firm. Whilst a solicitor he was ranked as a leading lawyer in Chambers and Partners between 2017 and 2022 and the Legal 500 between 2019 and 2022.

He joined Kenworthy's Chambers in Manchester shortly after his call date. Since transferring Jason has continued to practice in personal injury with an emphasis on larger loss and serious injury cases however he has a mixed practice of claimant and defendant personal injury work, including road traffic accident claims, employers' liability claims, and public liability claims.

In his 3 and a half years at the Bar so far Jason has undertaken over 500 hearings including a wide array of interlocutory hearings, CCMCs and trials on all tracks.

Jason is usually in court on four days every week. He also has a busy paperwork practice being frequently instructed to draft pleadings, schedules and counter schedules of loss and to provide advices on liability, quantum, tactics and procedure.

Jason adopts a pragmatic and forensic approach to his cases and will always advise clients on the strengths and weaknesses of their case prior to the hearing.

Credit hire

Jason has also developed a credit hire practice and can deal with any issue that arises from this litigation. He has expertise in dealing with arguments relating to enforceability, need, period, impecuniosity, intervention, loss of profit as an alternative to hire recovery where the damaged vehicle is a profit earning chattel and assessing the credibility and reliability of basic hire rate evidence.
