Dominic Li

Position

Dominic’s practice spans all areas of Chambers’ work, with a particular focus on commercial litigation, banking and finance, and civil fraud, often with an international element. He has experience in both litigation and arbitration and is regularly instructed as sole counsel in the County Court.

Before coming to the Bar, Dominic interned at WilmerHale London, assisting with a US$1 billion ICC arbitration concerning a supply and purchase agreement involving a major mining company.

His recent experience includes assisting in Crane Bank v DFCU Bank, defending conspiracy claims arising from the acquisition of a Ugandan banking business; Various Claimants v Glencore plc & Ors, a market-leading shareholder class action; Nationwide Building Society v Bank of New York Mellon and A&O Shearman, a £100 million professional negligence claim; and BNP v Uro, a €250 million bond dispute.

Dominic is a native Cantonese and Mandarin speaker and has conducted trials involving Chinese-language documents and cross-examined Mandarin-speaking witnesses through translation. Having grown up in Hong Kong, he maintains close connections to the jurisdiction.
