Nicole Gage

Nicole has over 25 years of experience advising clients with respect to intellectual property matters. Her practice focuses on all areas of trademark and unfair competition law including clearance, portfolio management, prosecution, enforcement, litigation, due diligence, false advertising, licensing, trademark use and misuse, and use in connection with social media. She has significant experience in the Federal Courts and at the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB). Nicole also represents clients with respect to copyright, trade secret, right of privacy, right of publicity, and defamation issues. Nicole has been recognized as a leader in the field of trademark law by World Trademark Review in its “WTR 1000 – The World’s Leading Trademark Professionals” directory from 2015-2026. In the 2020 ranking, she is described as someone who “maintains a substantial prosecution and portfolio management practice. When disputes arise, she adopts a business-focused approach and takes emotion out of the case, working cooperatively with opposing counsel to bring about win- win resolutions.” In 2021, Nicole was named a “Go To Lawyer” for intellectual property by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly. Nicole is a member of the International Trademark Association and is a former member of the Mediation, Internet, and Emerging Issues Committees. Before joining Beck Reed Riden LLP, Ms. Gage was Special Counsel with Foley & Lardner LLP and a Partner at Fish & Richardson, P.C. prior to that. Prior to her legal career, she worked as a process engineer with Mobil Oil Corporation on the improvement of refinery processes.

Sarah Tishler

Sarah Tishler is Senior Counsel at Beck Reed Riden LLP, a nationally-recognized boutique litigation firm based in Boston, Massachusetts. Sarah’s practice is concentrated on trade secret and restrictive covenant advising and litigation, employee mobility, and commercial litigation. Sarah has won successful outcomes for clients on both sides of these disputes in all stages of litigation, including the preliminary injunction stage, jury trials, and mediation. Sarah has also counseled clients on the identification and protection of trade secrets, and the enforceability of noncompetes and other restrictive covenants. Sarah was named by the Legal 500 as a Rising Star for 2023 in the area of Trade Secrets. Sarah is the author of several articles that discuss the interaction between contractual and statutory choice of law and forum selection clauses, in the context of restrictive covenant agreements and legislation. Sarah also co-published an article titled "The Uniform Restrictive Employment Agreement Act: How UREAA Offered an Alternative to Recent State and Federal Regulation of Restrictive Covenants, and Where to Go From Here," in the Spring 2024 edition of the University of Florida's Journal of Law & Public Policy. Sarah was also awarded the Pro Bono Star Award in 2022 by Human Rights First, for her work in successfully obtaining permanent residency and temporary protected status for a Haitian asylum-seeker and her parents, respectively. Sarah graduated magna cum laude from Duke University School of Law, where she served as Articles Editor of the Duke Journal of Comparative and International Law. Sarah published an article titled A New Approach to Shareholder Standing Before the European Court of Human Rights, in the journal. Sarah also holds a law degree from Sciences Po (Paris) and graduated summa cum laude from Northeastern University with a B.S. in Psychology, a B.A. in International Affairs, and a B.A. in French.
