Eversheds Sutherland

Simon is a Partner in Eversheds Sutherland’s Commercial team and serves as head of the Technology workstream in the UK. Simon advises on a wide range of commercial, technology and outsourcing transactions, frequently in the context of wider M&A activity, with a particular focus on the financial service, TMT, transport, and infrastructure sectors. Simon is a senior member of Eversheds Sutherland’s AI legal advisory team and advises clients across multiple sectors on the implementation and procurement of AI systems and AI-enabled services and products. Simon also advises on IT outsourcings, third party risk management and operational resilience, software as a service, technology-enabled business process outsourcings, and the transformation of existing outsourcing arrangements.

Simon previously served as a legal director and divisional commercial director for Capita’s Insurance and Benefits division. Simon speaks and writes regularly on IT (including AI) and outsourcing-related subjects, particularly within the financial services (including insurance and pensions) sector. Simon is a past member of the Global Sourcing Association’s Executive Counsel and lead its contracting workstream with a focus on challenging the ways in which the technology and outsourcing sectors approach contracts, including through the use of ‘design thinking’ and visual elements in contracts.
