Bhering Advogados is an independent law firm founded in 1978, in Rio de Janeiro, specializing in intellectual property and related matters, including trademarks, patents, industrial design, copyright and neighboring rights, information technology law, enforcement against counterfeiting and unfair competition, licensing, transfer of technology and IP litigation.

It represents large multinational corporations, particularly companies based in the USA, Europe and Asia and their Brazilian subsidiaries, belonging to various industrial sectors, such as automotive, chemical, biotech, aviation, engineering, pharmaceutical, sports, entertainment, telecommunications, software, fashion, among others.

Our main office is located in Rio de Janeiro, strategically close to INPI’s headquarters. The São Paulo branch was opened in 2004, and offers assistance in all fields of Intellectual Property to the subsidiaries of our foreign clients and domestic clients based in said State, the country’s main business center. The Curitiba branch was opened in late 2003 to provide services to our domestic and foreign clients located in the States of Paraná, Santa Catarina, and Rio Grande do Sul, a region with a heavy concentration of industries. With branch offices in the cities of São Paulo and Curitiba, in addition to our main office in Rio de Janeiro, Bhering Advogados has a strong presence in the main Brazilian industrial regions.

Since its establishment, the firm has been engaged in the constant evolution of intellectual property in the international arena. Its policy of providing personalised assistance to its clients has been important to the growth of the firm in recent years. Additionally, the firm encourages and finances the education and technical improvement of its professionals abroad.
