Saskia has a diverse client base and wide ranging practice focusing on the residential, rural and landed estates sectors and advising on all areas of property law that impact on high net worth individuals, large land owners and estates. She heads the Firm’s residential practice and acts for both domestic and foreign nationals and works closely with our tax, private client and corporate & commercial teams on the often complex arrangements surrounding such transactions. Matthew Bennett

Matthew Bennett

Matthew advises both UK and overseas resident individuals and families on the management of their legal, personal and tax affairs, and on the transfer of wealth down the generations. Much of his work includes advising on trusts and other asset holding structures. His client base ranges from entrepreneurs and company directors, to authors and artists. He also advises UK and overseas trustees and other fiduciaries on their duties and responsibilities and particular aspects of trust law. He acts as executor and as trustee for his clients and for a number of charitable trusts. Matthew qualified and worked in the City before moving away from London and becoming a partner in 2000. He returned to London in 2015 and joined the Firm in 2020.

Nicola is a Partner in the firm's Private Wealth Disputes team. She specialises in trust and estate litigation for high and ultra-high net worth individuals and families, often involving complex capacity issues. Nicola has particular expertise in claims for breach of trust, inter-family disputes in relation to the administration of estates and constructive trusts, Will disputes and setting aside transactions by reason of mental incapacity and undue influence. Her cases regularly involve multiple jurisdictions and recovering money held offshore. She has enormous strength across the whole spectrum of Court of Protection work, with particular emphasis on contentious financial applications concerning the estates and businesses of those who may have lost capacity to manage them, financial abuse, gift and statutory Will disputes and the removal of attorneys and deputies. ophie specialises in commercial property. Sophie has extensive experience in providing cradle to grave advice to high net worth individuals, family offices and private capital entities on the acquisition, financing, asset management and disposal of property. She has advised on a broad spectrum of asset classes including offices (including in the shared space economy), industrial estates, healthcare, retail and agricultural. Sophie advises landowners and developers on section 106 agreements, option agreements, promotion agreements, overage agreements, rights of light deeds, neighbourly agreements and deeds of easement. She represents UHNW and HNW individuals who come to her for her track record of exceptional client service, and tangible results, when advising on complex matters, particularly those which fall outside the Immigration Rules. She has extensive experience working with individuals relocating to the UK for the purposes of investment or establishment of a UK entity. Zoe also works seamlessly with businesses applying for sponsor licences and Skilled Worker visas, and helps these clients navigate the ever-changing sponsor licence compliance regime. Zoe has significant experience working with the Home Office to achieve the best possible outcomes for her clients. Mark specialises in resolving disputes regarding trusts, estates, tax, gifts and matters relating to mental capacity, with particular expertise in relation to offshore and cross-border estates. He has advised on matters where proceedings have taken place in many jurisdictions, including Jersey, Guernsey, Gibraltar, the Isle of Man, the British Virgin Islands, Bermuda, Scotland and elsewhere. The types of work Mark deals with include: Breach of trust and removal claims against trustees, executors and administrators; Advising trustees, executors and beneficiaries in relation to applications relating to the interpretation of trust deeds, wills and other documents, the approval of decisions by trustees and other issues arising in the administration of trusts and estates; Professional negligence claims against trustees and professional advisers, particularly relating to advice on transactions giving rise to unexpected tax consequences and claims seeking to set aside such transactions; Claims relating to the validity of wills, gifts and other documents challenged on the grounds of undue influence, fraud and a lack of mental capacity; Claims for financial provision under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975; Proprietary estoppel claims and claims based unjust enrichment; Claims relating to Deputies and Attorneys in the Court of Protection, including applications for statutory wills and approval of gifts; and Unfair prejudice petitions / claims for just and equitable winding up, particularly of family businesses. A significant number of his clients have connections with the US or Spain. He regularly advises on pre-arrival planning for individuals moving to the UK, as well as on asset holding structures for international families with members resident in multiple jurisdictions. This often involves working with advisors in other jurisdictions to provide his clients with coordinated advice. Laurence has particular experience in advising on matters with a US connection and he regularly advises US citizens who are resident in the UK or otherwise have connections with the UK on US/UK cross-border matters. Laurence also speaks fluent Spanish and before becoming a partner Laurence spent six months in Barcelona on secondment to the tax group of a leading Spanish law firm. She has extensive experience in advising on wealth preservation and tax efficient structures in an international context and is well recognised for advising clients in relation to complex cross-border tax and estate planning for UK and non-UK domiciled individuals and families. Many of Kyra’s clients are from the Middle East, particularly Kuwait, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Her commercial acumen, “hands-on approach”, “attention to detail” and strong cultural understanding enables her to assume the role of trusted advisor to many families and individuals in the MENA region. Katie O\'Callaghan

Katie O\'Callaghan

Katie advises clients on all aspects of family law, with a particular emphasis on high net worth financial remedy proceedings on divorce. A high proportion of her workload involves complex wealth structures both in the UK and abroad. She often acts for clients where the majority of the wealth is tied up in a family business which raises issues not only about the value of the company but also the ways in which funds can be extracted from it to buy out one spouse’s interest. She has a varied client base with backgrounds in private equity, sport, retail and technology. Katie has a particular interest in the preparation and negotiation of pre- and post-nuptial agreements in order to seek to protect certain assets in the event of a divorce. She works closely with the Firm’s corporate and private client teams to advise entrepreneurs, landed estate families and trustees in relation to such agreements. These may also be preceded by cohabitation agreements for unmarried partners as a means of regulating each partner’s financial contribution to their relationship. Katie has expertise in private children law matters which often involve disputes regarding the arrangements for the children upon their parents’ separation, applications by one parent to relocate a child elsewhere in the UK or abroad and financial provision for children of unmarried parents. She has particular experience in dealing with cases involving an autistic child. Katie is also a qualified mediator. Sarah Rock

Sarah Rock

Sarah heads the Firm’s construction practice and specialises in both contentious and non-contentious advice. She has particular experience helping clients in relation to the Building Safety Act, sporting projects and digital construction. Sarah has vast experience of providing advice to assist clients with navigating and staying compliant with the Building Safety Act. From leaseholder certificates to registering higher-risk buildings to navigating the gateways processes Sarah is a market leader in this new and fast paced area of law. She has produced checklists to assist clients with complying with their obligations of managing higher-risk buildings and her dual specialisms of building safety and digital construction leaves her well placed to advise on the Golden Thread of Data. Sarah sits on the British Property Federation’s Building Safety Sounding Board. Sarah also specialises in the field of Building Information Modelling (BIM) having advised numerous clients on the incorporation of this technology into their projects. She has had several papers published on the subject as well as being a named contributor to the Chartered Institute Of Building’s Complex Projects Contract, having assisted with drafting of the BIM clauses. Having previously acted for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games and a Premier League football club on all of the construction elements of its £100m new training ground facility, Sarah sits on the Firm’s Sports working group. Sarah is the Firm’s partner lead for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and sits on the board of Freehold LGBT+ CIC, a network for property professionals who identify as LGBT+. In April 2024 Sarah was awarded LGBTQIA Corporate Champion of the Year at the DIVA Awards.
William Rollin

William Rollin

William's practice covers all areas of matrimonial finance from cohabitation agreements and pre-nuptial agreements through post-nuptial agreements and the resolution of finances on divorce. He is particularly interested in complex HNW and UHNW financial cases which often include trusts, offshore trusts, private equity, funds, leverage, and also layered domestic and international business interests. William is a trained practitioner in both the Collaborative Process and the Resolution Together (“one couple, one lawyer”) approach to making children and financial arrangements upon divorce. With a strong personal commitment to early case resolution, (where appropriate) William actively supports his clients in identifying and exploring settlement in the most appropriate settlement process. He welcomes enquiries on dispute resolution and can guide clients through the range of processes including Resolution Together, Collaborative and Quasi-Collaborative, Early Neutral Evaluation, Mediation, Hybrid Mediation and solicitor negotiation. Where appropriate, William leverages his experience to adopt a flexible approach, borrowing from more than one of these processes to find a bespoke dispute resolution model. William is also an advocate for arbitration – which offers clients speedy access to the leading expert arbitrators who act as privately appointed decision-makers – with binding effect. Arbitration has the particular benefits of speed, choice of arbitrator and a guarantee of shielding the privacy of those with media profiles and / or complex assets. When litigation is unavoidable, William is an experienced, robust and strategic litigator, adept at pulling together the right team to ensure that the process generates the best outcome for his client. William speaks good French and some German. His expertise in finances is complemented by a long-standing interest in complex children cases, including international relocation cases and transfer of residence applications. Many of William’s children cases have involved issues of parental alcohol or substance abuse – often coupled with psychological and psychiatric concerns. William also has significant experience in managing cases with a public and private interface – for example where his clients have been subject to malicious allegations of impropriety and the Police or Social Services have become involved.

Clare specialises in succession planning and related legal and tax matters for multi-generational families and their family offices. She works alongside some of the world’s leading private businesses and her practice focuses on how to help individuals developing their succession planning strategy and designing bespoke asset holding and wealth management structures including PTCs, limited partnership structures and foundations. Clare has particular experience of advising and supporting families on implementing family and corporate governance frameworks to support successful wealth transition. She also supports clients in developing their philanthropic strategy to enable greater and more effective wealth distribution. Clare is recognised for her work having won multiple awards from the leading private wealth award bodies. Prior to joining the firm, Clare was a Partner at PwC and also worked at Barclays Wealth, providing her with a real breadth of experience and commercial insight across the private client sector. Rahul advises ultra-high net worth's, family offices, entrepreneurs and businesses on a variety of corporate and banking matters including fund raisings throughout the capital stack (such as equity, senior debt and mezzanine debt transactions), joint ventures and mergers and acquisitions as well as assisting clients with day to day commercial agreements. He also has significant experience in advising on private funds in the real estate, private equity and venture capital sectors on structuring and regulatory matters. Uniquely for a lawyer, Rahul has undertaken all of his Chartered Financial Analyst examinations (a qualification typically achieved only by senior bankers) and therefore regularly assists clients with negotiating the key commercial terms of a transaction as well as then finding a structure which provides the necessary commercial outcomes.

She is highly regarded for her ability to engage with clients and other professionals in a sympathetic and constructive manner.
