Position

Kok Keong joined Shook Lin & Bok in 1998 and became a partner in 2004. His area of practice is Dispute Resolution with a principal focus on Banking & Finance Litigation and Shipping & Maritime.

He regularly assists financial institutions, corporations, and individuals in both advisory and litigation matters whether as claimant or defendant at all levels of the Malaysian Courts.  In this role, he has had conduct of debt recovery actions (conventional/Islamic retail/trade financing), enforcement proceedings, security realisation and insolvency practice as well as claims involving negligence, defamation, breach of contract and asset ownership disputes (i.e. land, maritime vessels).

He has also acted in claims concerning fraud/misappropriation of assets, minority oppression/shareholders disputes, land acquisition and reference, judicial reviews, tenancies as well as property recovery seized/forfeited under anti-money laundering/terrorism financing/drug offence related laws.

He is a member of the Insolvency Practitioners Association of Malaysia and INSOL International. He is a contributor to Sweet & Maxwell’s The Annotated Malaysian Companies Act 2016 and has appeared on RTM’s TV programme “Dari Meja Peguam”.
