About
CEDR is a not-for-profit body, founded in 1990, that campaigns for better resolution of disputes and management of conflicts. CEDR’s innovative initiatives promote the need for more effective leadership in collaboration and dialogue and how to achieve it.
CEDR is Europe’s largest independent Alternative Dispute Resolution provider, which has helped over 450,000 parties in commercial and consumer disputes to date.
CEDR is the leading negotiation and conflict management trainer, internationally acclaimed for it Mediator Skills Training of 10,000 individuals, and its accreditation of over 7,000 mediators. It also consults globally on Civil Justice reform and helps business develop conflict management systems.
Types of work undertaken
Commercial disputes: CEDR is expert in the resolution of commercial disputes and deadlocked negotiations of all shapes and sizes from small claims to disputes valued in the billions. We work with a panel of over 100 CEDR trained mediators to provide bespoke and fixed fee mediation services to clients across a range of industries.
Consumer disputes: CEDR provides consumer dispute resolution services for over 30 companies, central and local government and trade bodies, across a range of industries.
Mediation training: CEDR offers Mediator Skills training for individuals, leading to the CEDR Accreditation, internationally recognised as the standard of excellence in mediator qualification.
Negotiation training and conflict management: CEDR trains individuals and organisations in negotiation and conflict management skills with over 28 years of unrivalled experience in skills based training and coaching.
Foundation: As a not-for-profit body, at the heart of CEDR’s work is its foundation activity, which undertakes innovative research into understanding conflict in all forms and methods of resolving it.
