Alessia Grossi

Alessia Grossi

Alessia Grossi is a member of the Sports Law Group and Employment and Labour Group at Loopstra Nixon LLP.  She has represented both coach and athlete clients in mediations, arbitrations and before a number of disciplinary panels. She has made appearances before the Sport Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada, the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Small Claims Court, and on behalf of clients in a number of mediations. As a management-side employment lawyer, Alessia routinely advises on a broad range of employment issues, including HR management, terminations, employment standards issues, and litigation avoidance. Alessia has experience litigating wrongful dismissals actions, breaches of restrictive covenants, and Human Rights Code violations. She also provides advice during mergers, acquisitions and other corporate transactions, and has experience dealing with the Ministry of Labour.
Elliot Saccucci

Elliot Saccucci

Elliot Saccucci is an experienced sports lawyer and arbitrator. He has acted as counsel for professional and amateur athletes, coaches, national and provincial sports organizations, case managers (and other independent third parties) and professional teams, including National Hockey League clubs. He represents clients in professional and amateur athletic issues, including salary negotiation, endorsement advice and negotiation, as well as investigations, and arbitrations involving salary, carding, team selection, discipline, and Safe Sport and UCCMS complaints. In addition to sports law practice, Elliot also has extensive expertise in employment and administrative law. He acts for companies in all kinds of employment-related disputes, and also has experience in judicial review and other administrative law proceedings. Elliot routinely advises clients on mergers, acquisitions and other transactions, mass terminations, executive compensation, human resources management, litigation avoidance strategies, human rights matters and employment standards issues. Elliot represents his clients in mediations, arbitrations, and before a variety of boards, courts and tribunals. He has appeared before the Sports Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada panel, the Greater Toronto Hockey League Discipline Committee, the NHL/NHLPA salary arbitration panel, the Disciplinary Panel of the Law Society of Ontario, the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal, the Ontario Labour Relations Board, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the British Columbia Supreme Court, the Ontario Divisional Court, and the Federal Court of Appeal. In 2022 Elliot was elected as a member of the Adjudicatory Body of World Aquatics’ newly-created Aquatics Integrity Unit, representing Canada.
