Basava is a Partner in the M&A, Private Equity, JV, Corporate and Commercial and Restructuring Practice. He has almost two decades of experience.

He has advised PE and VC funds as well as entrepreneurs, on a wide range of corporate and commercial law matters. His experience spans diverse sectors, including aviation, manufacturing, fin-tech, insurance, IT/ITES, rural credit, agri-tech, e-commerce, and pharmaceuticals. He has structured innovative financing models and next generation lending frameworks leveraging technology and has a granular understanding of financial services.

Further, two M&A transactions led by him in the year 2023 (Kotak Mahindra's acquisition of Sonata Finance; and Exit of Everstone Capital from Servion Global Solutions) have featured in the list of most significant M&A transactions which have had a positive impact on the Indian market, in a study conducted by Indian Business Law Journal.
