Types of work undertaken:Corporate: the team has experience in all aspects of corporate work, including M&A, company restructuring and refinancing, IP with computer purchase arrangements and e-commerce being particular specialisms. The firm also has an outstanding reputation in the dental sector, especially in the purchase and sale of dental practices throughout the UK.

Commercial: the team advises on all aspects of commercial work including negotiating, drafting and enforcing business contracts, business start-up advice, including company and partnership formations and directors’ responsibilities, compliance issues, shareholder and investor agreements and commercial agreements including joint ventures and franchise agreements, terms and conditions of business, and marketing and supply arrangements.

Commercial dispute resolution: the team represents business clients in all types of contentious matters, including trading disputes, professional negligence, competition, intellectual property and insolvency. It also has specialist property litigation lawyers and is committed to ADR.

Commercial property: the team has experience in a wide range of transactions, including commercial landlord and tenant renewals, leases, surrenders, freehold acquisitions and disposals, secured lending and general commercial property development work such as agricultural land and countryside development, including sales of farms and leases of farm buildings.

Employment: the team provides proactive preventative advice and advises on engagement procedures, discrimination, employers’ duties, TUPE, agreed and disputed termination, restrictive covenant, tribunal and court representation. The team is experienced in all aspects of corporate and private contentious and non-contentious employment law.

Personal injury and clinical negligence: the team advises on personal injury and clinical negligence and are experienced in dealing with all types of personal injury litigation and are particularly regarded for their work in complex and high-value claims.

Dispute resolution for individuals: the team advises on property disputes, including those relating to party walls, basement extension and boundary disputes, as well as debt, personal insolvency and contested probate.

Family: the team advises on all aspects of family and matrimonial law, including separation, divorce, civil partnership as well as more complex cases with international aspects, corporate or substantial assets or difficult issues concerning children and domestic violence. The team proactively advises individuals on cohabitation or pre-nuptial agreements.

Wills, estates and tax planning: the team advise individuals on private wealth management and have considerable experience advising on wills, tax planning and the administration of estates, including disputes relating to wills and the application for all types of grants and distribution of assets

Residential conveyancing: the team advises on all aspects of residential conveyancing, including high-value residential transactions, option agreements and residential development, including multi-million pound sales and purchases of houses, flats, farms, listed buildings and land.
