Dr. Kamel focuses on commercial, financial and tax disputes, with over 17 years of experience in the Region. He has extensive practical expertise particularly in TMT, Merger and Acquisition, and Tax litigation.

Kamel has successfully represented many international clients in litigation matters, as well as companies and high net worth individuals in local and cross-border disputes across the MENA region. Kamel has handled numerous commercial and finance arbitration dispute according to several jurisdictions including Egypt, Libya, Kuwait, Iraq, UAE, and KSA.

Representative Matters

• Representing French Company in cement industry, in capital gain tax disputes in a claim worth EGP 2 billion.

• Representing National and multinational companies in commercial arbitration proceedings according to CRCICA, LCIA, DIAC, and ICC rules with a particular focus on telecommunication, waste management, cement production, public utilities, and Merger &Acquisition disputes.

• Representing an Arab state in annulment procedures of an arbitral award with a total amount of USD 1 Billion.

• Representing a major telecommunication company and a major player in food production, food &beverages, in capital gain tax disputes worth EGP 1 billion in in addition to negotiating several telecommunication projects including Fiber to the Home (FTTH), Bulk SMS wholesale, and Fiber wholesale Bitstream. • Successfully represented a major telecommunication player in an interconnection dispute exceeding a value of EGP 1 billion.

• Representing major Egyptian Telecommunication Player in negotiating and drafting the 4G license with NTRA worth of EGP 5 billion.

• Representing one of the largest international Pharmaceutical Company in dispute regarding product liability lawsuit exceeding a value of EGP 1 billion.

• Represented a global manufacturer in disputes against local distributors and agents in connection with termination of commercial agency and distribution matters including customer protection and competition issues.
