LANDMARK SUCCESS IN CONSUMER RIGHTS PROTECTION

We are pioneers and recognized leaders in consumer rights protection in Poland – especially in disputes involving loans indexed to foreign currency exchange rates. SOBOTA JACHIRA was among the first law firms in the country to launch systemic legal support for borrowers, applying EU consumer regulations and integrating them into national jurisprudence.

Our first case against a financial institution was field in 2017 and secured a favorable ruling the following year. Since then, we have successfully handled over 4,000 Swiss franc loan cases, significantly shaping both Polish and EU case law. Our team has been involved in landmark proceedings before the Polish Supreme Court and the Court of Justice of the European Union, contributing to the development of consumer protection standards across Central Europe.

Recently, the District Court in Warsaw referred a preliminary question - drafted by our team - to the Court of Justice of the European Union regarding the admissibility of securing consumer claims in lawsuits against Getin Noble Bank S.A. This case is of great importance for safeguarding thousands of borrowers throughout Europe.
