Diversity
Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion:
Grant Stephens Family Law prides itself on being a diverse, supportive and encouraging workplace, providing equal opportunities for all of its employees.
A Changing Industry
When our founder and managing partner, Grant Stephens, began his career, the legal industry was seen as a 'men's club'. We are proud to be a part of a significant, industry wide change. According to the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), 53% of solicitors are women and 32% of 'full equity partners' are women.
At Grant Stephens Family Law, women make up the majority of our team, from directors to legal assistants. Notably, half of our board of directors are women, each playing an instrumental role in shaping firm wide decisions and driving the growth of the business.
Inclusive Representation and Client Care
Our commitment to diversity and inclusion extends beyond our team - it is reflected in how we support and advise our clients. We ensure we use gender neutral and inclusive language when addressing clients in communication and regularly support clients in same-sex relationships.
As a specialist family law firm, we understand that there is no uniform definition of family. We continuously educate our solicitors on the complexities and unique dynamics that different families and relationships may experience, ensuring we provide the same compassionate, expert care to every client.
Embracing Cultural Diversity
Cardiff and Swansea are incredibly diverse places, with people from all walks of life finding a home here. Since we were founded in 2013, we have proudly supported clients from many different religious and ethnic backgrounds, consistently with sensitivity to cultural and faith-based differences.
Supporting Our Team
Many of our team members have families of their own and we understand the importance of offering flexible and supportive work schedules and policies to accommodate for everyone's individual lives and to empower our team members to thrive both personally and professionally.
Giving Back to Community
Grant Stephens Family Law are committed to giving back to the wider community. In 2024, we sponsored the Hijinx Unity Festival, Europe's largest inclusive arts festival. This event saw performances from some of the best inclusive and disabled art and theatre groups from around Europe. This festival was a fantastic demonstration of inclusivity and we were incredibly proud to have been able to support such a fantastic event.
Continuous Learning
It is imperative to us that we constantly review, educate and improve. All members of our team undergo training to ensure that we consistently promote inclusivity in our workplace and to all of our clients.
