MMA LAW
About
MMA Law is a Kuwait law firm with a strong sector focus on energy, oil & gas, construction, infrastructure, IT and telecommunications sector projects. The firm was established by Mr. Mohammad Meslet Abu Raqabah, a highly experienced legal strategist and former CEO of a publicly listed Kuwaiti company, who brings deep commercial and regulatory insight into the firm’s practice.
The firm is widely recognised for its ability to navigate complex governmental procedures, public procurement frameworks, and the regulatory landscape governing Kuwait’s major industrial sectors. MMA Law routinely advises international EPC contractors, drilling companies, engineering consultants, and foreign investors operating within Kuwait’s highly regulated market.
MMA Law is distinguished by its proactive approach to project advisory. The firm adopts a “prevention is better than cure” philosophy, embedding legal support throughout the entire project lifecycle rather than stepping in only when disputes arise. Its contract management and claims division works closely with clients from tendering through execution, providing continuous oversight of contractual risks, entitlement preservation, and claims strategy. This integrated model has proven effective in preventing disputes and shaping outcomes long before matters reach litigation or arbitration.
The firm is particularly active in matters involving public entities, including ministries, national oil companies, and state-owned enterprises. The team has extensive experience advising on CAPT tendering procedures, Audit Bureau requirements, contract variations, termination disputes, delay and disruption claims, and settlement negotiations.
MMA Law also offers a robust disputes practice, representing clients before Kuwaiti courts and in international arbitration. The firm’s disputes work includes high-value claims in the oil & gas and construction sectors, as well as contractual challenges, enforcement actions, and cross-border litigation.
In addition to its project and disputes work, MMA Law is registered with the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) as an approved service provider authorised to represent foreign investors establishing 100% foreign-owned entities under Law No. 116 of 2013. The firm frequently advises multinational clients on market entry, investment structuring, and regulatory compliance in Kuwait’s strategic sectors.
MMA Law is a member of several international legal networks, including Justinian Lawyers (as the sole representative from Kuwait) and the AEA International Lawyers Network, where its founder serves as Vice President for Asia. These affiliations support the firm’s cross-border capabilities and reinforce its international presence.
