Giulia Mariuz is a partner in the Italian Technology, Media and Communications and Commercial Group. She acts for many of the world’s largest technology companies, offering unmatched expertise on anything e-commerce related – ranging from consumer protection, commercial agreements, operations, product compliance and marketplace regulations. She is also a seasoned privacy and data protection lawyer, assisting companies across industries with their data governance strategy, as well as privacy and cybersecurity compliance and representing them before the Italian Data Protection Authority.

Finding the right balance between unlocking the value of data and the protection of privacy gets tougher by the year, but Giulia’s approach is to look at privacy compliance and information governance as part of her clients’ strategic vision for success. Giulia's expertise also includes AI law, an area where she’s been working closely with some of the biggest generative AI players, gaining direct experience on the field. Whether it comes to drafting a contract, analyzing the regulatory framework in specific areas, or assessing the risks stemming from a specific commercial strategy, clients can always count on Giulia’s innovative thinking and deep understanding of the law.

She is also a founding member of Privacy She-Leaders, an association aimed at empowering women professionals in the fields of IT laws and privacy, and she currently sits as coordinator of the scientific committee within AIRIA – the Association of International Regulation of AI. Giulia regularly provides lectures and is invited to panels on data protection, and IT law related matters.
