Adam Brett
Adam Brett
Adam concentrates on employment and discrimination matters. Work has included many Tribunals, actual and threatened judicial reviews about student fees, the interpretation of the University’s own Statutes and their interaction with laws and regulations, alleged race and other discrimination, intellectual property disputes, injunctions against aggressive students, staff or third parties, advice on governance issues, and responding to enquiries/investigations by outside bodies such as the Equality Commission and regulators. He worked with the University’s Information Manager on Freedom of Information and DPA requests and possible appeals to the Information Tribunal. More generally, Adam is frequently involved in defending Tribunal claims covering the full spectrum of employment law rights. He works with wide range of public and private sectors on TUPE/Service Provision Change often involving public procurement processes, whether for the public authority, the transferor/transferee or the employees. Adam advises both employers and individuals on high level internal disputes, and on restrictive covenants, sometimes involving injunctions.

Rory Campbell
For over 25 years Rory has been advising private, public and voluntary sector clients on technology investments, acquisitions and deals. He has expertise in contracts, software licensing, intellectual property and in data protection law and has gained this expertise by advising startups on the nimble art of protecting and selling their creations at the same time, as well as by advising government departments and public sector bodies on how to ensure value for money and fulfilment of requirements in multi-million pound IT procurement projects. Rory is passionate about the need to understand the transaction, and to fit a common sense and plain English legal structure to the story of the deal and he helps his clients connect their products with end users, protecting ownership of their IP and their revenue streams.
Mathew Forde
Mathew has experience in advising on commerical disputes, Intellectual Property disputes and reputation management issues. Much of Mathew's practice has been spent advising a broad range of commercial clients, which typically range from manufacturing, food production, cosmetics, drinks, data services, media, television production and service industries. He works closely with clients at the early stages of disputes, exploring ways to prevent dispute escalation or finding creative ways to break deadlocks and achieve resolution, either through mediation or ADR. He also provides advice on best practices for protecting, policing and monetising intellectual property assets and reputation. Mathew has acted for clients in the UK in hearings before the High Court, Court of Appeal, Supreme Court and Privy Council in addition to arbitration and has acted for clients on IP cases before the UKIPO and EUIPO tribunals. He has extensive experience in litigating overseas, in particular in the US (New York), Canada and New Zealand.

Ciara Fulton
Ciara is a partner in Lewis Silkin’s Employment, Immigration and Reward division based in Belfast where she manages the office and a growing employment team. Ciara is dual qualified and advises on all aspects of employment law in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. She has significant experience of advising clients on all manner of employment issues including complex disciplinary and grievance issues, bullying and harassment matters, equality matters, including equal pay claims, large scale redundancies and reorganisations as well as sensitive executive severances and enforcing restrictive covenants. Ciara also advises on TUPE in the context of business transfers, insourcing and outsourcing and provide guidance and support to the HR team through the consultation process and on negotiating warranties and indemnities. Ciara has particular expertise of advising on NI and ROI cross border matters and employment related litigation in both jurisdictions. She works with a variety of sectors and has particular experience in the construction and infrastructure sector. Ciara regularly speaks on a range of employment issues at internal and external events and delivers bespoke training to clients on the differences between NI and ROI employment law.
