MLL Legal appoints Reto Luthiger to its Board of Directors

MLL Legal is pleased to announce the appointment of Reto Luthiger to its Board of Directors. The firm’s Co-Head of Regulatory, Compliance and New Technologies joins the board at a moment of growth and strategic development for the firm. Reto Luthiger brings over a decade of experience in financial market regulation, compliance, fintech, and blockchain law. He is serving as Co-Head of MLL Legal’s Regulatory, FinTech & DLT practice group, as well as the firm’s Insurance and Compliance & Internal Investigations industry groups. His expertise spans banking, anti-money laundering, securities regulation, and digital assets, and he is widely recognised for his leadership in navigating complex regulatory landscapes. Nicola Benz, Co-Head of the ICT & Digital Practice Group, and Vice-Chair of the MLL Legal Board for the past four years, joined the Management Team at the beginning of 2025 and therefore stepped down from the board. “We thank Nicola for her dedicated work over the last four years in her Board role — in particular, her instrumental support for the integration work that followed our 2021 merger,” says Alexander Vogel, Chair of the Board at MLL Legal. “We wish Reto, together with all re-elected Board members and Nicola in her continuing management function, every success in their leadership positions.” “I’m honored to join the Board of MLL Legal and contribute to its continued success," says Reto Luthiger. Partner & Counsel Promotions 2025: Congratulations to Louisa Galbraith, Hannah Cipriano-Favre and Camillo Devecchi

On behalf of the MLL Legal Partnership, we are pleased to announce the promotion of Louisa Galbraith to Partner, as well as Hannah Cipriano-Favre and Camillo Devecchi to Counsel, effective as of 1 January 2025. We congratulate each of them on this significant milestone in their careers and wish them continued success in their new roles! These promotions reflect our commitment to strengthening our firm with exceptional, talented individuals from within, who will help us continue to grow successfully and to develop innovative ideas for our Swiss law firm of the future. Louisa Galbraith: Partner Louisa joined MLL Legal in 2017 as an Associate after passing the bar exam in Basel. In 2021, she was promoted to Senior Associate. She is a member of the IP practice group in our Zurich office. "Louisa has developed tremendous expertise and international recognition in contentious IP and life sciences matters. We value Louisa not only for her outstanding professional skills, but also as an exceptionally dedicated and loyal member of our team. Her new role as Partner is therefore a logical and well-deserved step in her career. We are very fortunate and proud to have such a passionate talent on board", says Simon Holzer, Co-Head IP-Team. Expertise: Louisa's main area of practice is IP litigation with a focus on patent litigation. She has a particular interest and expertise in the life sciences and health care sectors. Besides using her broad experience in pharma patent litigation, she regularly advises and represents clients in regulatory and contractual matters in this field. Hannah Cipriano-Favre: Counsel Hannah started at MLL Legal in Geneva in 2012 as a summer trainee. She came back as a Junior Associate in 2015 and thereafter continued as an Associate in 2017 in the Litigation and Employment Practice Groups. “We feel fortunate to have Hannah, whose keen insight, exceptional professional capabilities, and unwavering dedication to clients and their projects make her a distinguished new counsel on our team. Her promotion to Counsel at our firm is undoubtedly well-deserved and will serve as a strong foundation for her continued success with us”, says Alain Gros, Co-Head Employment Law & Social Security. Expertise: Hannah has expertise in litigation and employment law, with an emphasis on workplace disputes, regulatory compliance, and complex legal proceedings. With her strategic approach and in-depth knowledge of Swiss labour law, Hannah helps businesses navigate legal challenges while ensuring solutions align with their operational goals. She is particularly interested in fostering equitable workplace practices and pioneering new trends in labour and employment law. Camillo Devecchi: Counsel Camillo started as an Associate in 2016 and was promoted to Senior Associate in 2019. He is a member of the Corporate & M&A Practice Group in Zurich and acts as Knowledge & Quality Management Officer for the entire firm. “Camillo is an outstanding lawyer, highly respected by both team members and clients alike. He is the cornerstone of our firm’s know-how infrastructure and will take a firm wide role as MLL’s Knowledge & Quality Management Officer, supporting all practice groups in their ongoing work to improve quality and leverage existing knowledge within the firm. He has led various internal projects aimed at improving operational processes, facilitating knowledge transfer, and enhancing efficiency through technology.
