HEUSSEN: Among the best in the Handelsblatt “Germany’s Best Lawyers 2022/2023”

HEUSSEN, a full-service commercial law firm with offices in Munich, Stuttgart, Berlin and Frankfurt, was able to further strengthen its position this year and is represented by lawyers in all major practice areas. WirtschaftsWoche (WiWo) has once again searched for the top law firms in Germany for public procurement law. And for the fifth time, partner Uwe Carsten Völlink and HEUSSEN's public procurement law practice are among the best. For the list of the top law firms and lawyers for public procurement law 2022, the Handelsblatt Research Institute (HRI) asked more than 1,200 lawyers from 148 law firms about the most renowned colleagues in their eyes. The selection was then presented to a jury of experts, who filtered out the list of 50 law firms and 70 highly recommended lawyers from the nominees.

HEUSSEN obtains landmark ruling from European Court of Justice (ECJ) for Cyando – no liability for platform operators

The European Court of Justice (ECJ) has strengthened the position of platforms such as Cyando (share hosting platform) and YouTube (video sharing platform). The German Federal Court of Justice had submitted various questions to the ECJ on the interpretation of Union law. The ECJ's answers mean that such platforms regularly do not have to be liable for copyright infringements by their users insofar as they have no knowledge of them (judgment in joined cases C-682/18 "YouTube" and C-683/18 "Cyando").
