The firm: In 1977 Dr Michael Maikowski founded his patent attorney firm in the former West Berlin. Detlef Ninnemann, who had his own firm in Bremen, joined Dr Maikowski in 1989 to form a joint patent attorney firm – Maikowski & Ninnemann.

Dr Gunnar Baumgärtel, Prof Dr Felix Gross, Dr Christoph Schröder, Dr Fabian Sokolowski, Ralf Emig and Andreas Tanner joined as partners in 1998, 2000, 2010, 2012 and 2016 respectively.
