KLEYR GRASSO > The Legal 500 Rankings
Dispute resolution Tier 1
Praised for its 'pragmatic approach to disputes', KLEYR GRASSO is regularly instructed by major multinational corporates and financial services entities to represent them in their most significant litigation. Managing partner Marc Kleyr is recognised as an 'excellent strategist' who excels in handling complex shareholder disputes and finance litigation; he recently successfully defended HITEC Luxembourg against a minority shareholder action initiated before the Luxembourg commercial court. The 'highly knowledgeable' Pascal Sassel is heavily engaged in financial services litigation, and is representing Deutsche Bank in a multi-million-euro damage claim brought against it by DP Immobilier, following the termination of a multi-million-euro facility and the subsequent enforcement of its guarantees. Other recommended partners include Rosario Grasso, for white-collar matters; Donata Grasso, for financial services and insolvency litigation; Yasmine Poos, for procurement litigation; and the 'reliable and proactive' François Collot , for real estate and construction disputes.
Employment Tier 1
Praised for its 'thorough understanding of complex international organisations', KLEYR GRASSO's two-partner team is 'capable of presenting solutions in an understandable way, while also taking into consideration the complex labour law requirements in Luxembourg'. Christian Jungers has 'excellent knowledge of labour law and collective agreements', and is noted for his 'pithy and accurate advice'. The 'responsive and thorough' Philippe Ney provides very 'clear advice', across both individual and collective employment issues. At counsel level, both Sandra Rapp and Céline Defay are also recommended, with the latter a recent recruit from specialist employment firm Castegnaro, member of Ius Laboris.
Real estate and construction Tier 1
The 'flexible and supportive' team at KLEYR GRASSO has a strong reputation in the real estate sector across both funds-related corporate matters and "bricks and mortar" mandates, including advice on lease agreements. Real estate investment firm Corestate Capital is a client. Yasmine Poos is regarded as 'an expert on commercial tenant law', and is a key member of the team that also includes the 'reliable and proactive' François Collot. Patrick Chantrain left the firm.
Now with four partners who focus on corporate and commercial matters, following the arrival in July 2018 of the 'knowledgeable and responsive' Delphine Tempé from Dentons, KLEYR GRASSO has the strength-in-depth to handle a tremendous volume and range of work for a growing roster of corporates and funds. The 'highly skilled and practical' Rina Breininger regularly handles work for TA Associates, including on its partial acquisition, via a Luxembourg holding structure, of the France-based Solabia Group. Jean-Paul Spang and counsel Jérôme Burel are also recommended. Patrick Chantrain left the firm.
Insurance Tier 2
Although it was considerably weakened in relation to pure insurance regulatory expertise following the departure in October 2018 of Karine Vilret to Wildgen, KLEYR GRASSO still has insurance capability on the M&A and litigation fronts by virtue of the expertise of Rina Breininger and Rosario Grasso, respectively.
The 'knowledgeable and hardworking' team at KLEYR GRASSO provides 'accurate and responsive advice' to a loyal cadre of corporates and private equity firms on their financing requirements, including as it relates to their M&A activity. The team recently advised GSO Capital Partners on the financing in connection with Bridgepoint's acquisition of Miller Homes. The 'highly skilled and proactive' Rina Breininger regularly advises TA Associates, including on the financing and structuring of its recent investment into the Solabia Group. Counsel Jérôme Burel is also recommended. Patrick Chantrain left the firm. Sophie Arvieux is now at Dentons.
Private equity Tier 3
At KLEYR GRASSO, the team recently advised GSO Capital Partners in connection with the financing of Bridgepoint's acquisition of Miller Homes. Rina Breininger is also recommended and handles a significant amount of investment work for TA Associates. Patrick Chantrain left the firm.
Investment funds Tier 4
The 'dynamic and professional' team at KLEYR GRASSO provides 'accurate and in-depth advice on the structuring and establishment of funds, as well as associated regulatory matters'. The team is particularly accomplished in relation to the private equity and real estate spaces. Counsel Renata Jokubauskaite is appreciated for her 'flexible, responsive and professional advice'. Patrick Chantrain left the firm.
