On 22 September 2017, the Prime Minister delivered a speech on the future relationship between the UK and the EU. The speech focused on the economy and security and the Prime Minister confirmed that the objectives set out in her Lancaster House speech earlier in the year remained valid. The Prime Minister recommended a transitional period of adjustment following the UK's departure from the EU on 29 March 2019. A statement from Michel Barnier has also been published.
