The Welfare Reform and Pension Act 1999, which among other things contains the primary legislation enabling the Inland Revenue to issue statutory instruments dealing with the National Insurance treatment of personal service businesses, received Royal Assent on 11 November 1999. The income tax rules for personal service businesses will be included in the Finance Bill 2000. Both sets of rules will take effect from April 2000.
