New Posters To Combat Piracy (ST 11.06.99)

SingaporeIntellectual Property

The Trade and Development Board ("TDB") launched six new posters on Thursday 10 June 1999 to combat piracy of intellectual property. This is part of the government’s "stop piracy, be original and buy original" campaign which began last December.

The posters are aimed at consumers with the message that they are the ultimate victims when content creators and companies stop creating or investing as the result would be fewer products, poorer choices and fewer employment opportunities. Therefore, the burden of fighting piracy should lie with the consumers.

The series posters will be displayed at locations like schools and retails outlets until May 2000.
