Testimonials

‘The team is genuinely collaborative across its platform of branches nationwide. This is actually difficult to achieve and is often undermined by rivalry between London and other branches. In the case of Shoosmiths they seem to have created a very positive and collaborative working environment enabling the necessary talent to be brought to a case. There also seems to be a good availability of talent from Partner to Associate. In fact some of the Principal Associates are very talented.’

‘The thing I found most unique was the Team’s ability to give practical advice and to clearly give an opinion. Often firms will provide you with the risks of different approaches and leave the client to reach a decision on the best way forward but, in this case, we needed some very specific on advice on what course of action needed to be taken and they provided that advice. It was very practical and understood the commercial needs of the business. I was incredibly impressed.’

‘Philip Ryan and Jo Sear are very approachable, highly technical lawyers, who have an ability to translate very heavy legislative provisions into easily digestible bites.’

‘The support and guidance provided by Shoosmith LLP in Health and Safety is underpinned with a significant depth of experience and expertise, that is provided in a timely and considered manner. Moreover, support is rapid and delivered with a great understanding and empathy of prevailing conditions. Partners are unafraid to get out on the ground and live the problem. I have no reservation in recommending their services.’

‘Hayley Saunders is fantastic to work with – responsive, pragmatic, and always provides commercially focused advice. All the qualities you’d expect from private practice lawyer. Highly recommended.’

‘Shoosmiths is a real market leader in this area – and richly deserves its excellent reputation. They have strength in depth: a highly experienced team of partners, ably-supported by a team of associates, who are able to offer an excellent service to their clients. They have buckets of relevant experience – with a number of star individuals. They are deeply committed to their clients’ causes. They go the extra mile – always. It is not surprising, therefore, that they have long-standing relationships with a cadre of loyal clients – whether they be national supermarkets or individual businesses – with whom they enjoy “trusted adviser” status. All in all, I consider them to be among the very best in their field and I very much hope that they are afforded tier 1 status.’

‘Charles Arrand is one of elite. He has unparalleled knowledge and experience of health and safety law. His commercial approach, and excellent judgement, instil huge loyalty in his cadre of blue chip clients.

‘Joanne Sear has great knowledge and understanding of procedure and the dynamics of criminal litigation. She combines great judgement with an incredible capacity for work. It is small wonder, therefore, that she is building a superb reputation for herself in this area. She’s definitely one to watch.’
