Position

Andrew has been involved in family law and the law relating to children for 40 years.

Andrew qualified as a solicitor of the Supreme Court in 1980 and has a wealth of experience which includes complex and high profile cases involving child death and serious physical and sexual abuse.

Andrew advises and represents parents, children, grandparents, wider family members and Local Authorities in the most complex of disputes.

As a specialist family law advocate, Andrew has represented children in the Rochdale sexual abuse scandal and the gang-related murder of police officers and family members in Greater Manchester.

He was an accredited member of the Law Society Children Panel and represented children involved in care, adoption and surrogacy proceedings as well as private law disputes between parents in every level of the family court system.

Career

Andrew was called to the Bar by Lincoln’s Inn in 2019, and joined St John’s Buildings in 2020.

After 35 years as an Equity partner in a solicitors’ firm with one of the largest family law departments in the country, Andrew has transferred to the Bar. Whilst a solicitor, Andrew had a key role in delivering and supporting other members of the family law team to deliver a first class advocacy service to family law clients. He is one of the most experienced family and children law lawyers in the country.
