Having read Law at The Queen’s College, University of Oxford and completed the Bar Vocational Course at Manchester Metropolitan University, Helen was called to the Bar in June 2010. She undertook pupillage at Iscoed Chambers and became a tenant in October 2011. Crime: Helen is a member of the Criminal Bar Association was the winner of the Oxford University Press CBA Bursary 2012. She is a Level 2 CPS Panel Advocate and undertakes a wide variety of prosecution and defence work in the Crown Court and Magistrates Court. Employment: Helen is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and represents both claimants and respondents in the employment tribunal, through applications, final hearings and written work. Civil: Helen undertakes work on behalf of claimants and respondents in all areas of civil law, including housing, contractual, road traffic, personal injury and insolvency disputes, both through written and court work. Family: Helen has developed a keen interest in family law. In 2009, having been awarded a first class grade in family law as part of her undergraduate degree, she was asked to be a speaker at the World Congress on Children’s Rights and the Family in Nova Scotia, and presented her paper on balancing the rights of parents and children in child protection cases. Helen accepts instructions in all types of family proceedings. Helen is a CEDR trained and CEDR accredited mediator, accepting instructions to conduct mediations in all aspects of civil law.
