Career

Iwona is developing a busy practice acting for both defence and prosecution. She has experience in a broad range of criminal proceedings and appears daily in Magistrates’, Youth and Crown Court. Iwona has been instructed on matters which include drug offences, dishonesty offences, offences relating to dangerous dogs, offences of violence, as well as a variety of driving offences; she also represents individuals in Extradition hearings.

In Crown Court, Iwona has acted for defendants at PTPH, mentions, bench warrant and sentence hearings. Earlier this year, when representing a client in the drug offences case, Iwona negotiated a favourable basis of plea.

Iwona is Grade 1 prosecutor for the CPS

Before commencing Pupillage, Iwona worked as a County Court Advocate and she was a paralegal and legal researcher at Peters & Peters Solicitors where she gained experience in business crime.

Iwona is a trained Free Representation Unit advocate and has conducted, and won, 2 trials at the Employment Tribunal.

Iwona is bi-lingual and can take instructions in Polish.

Prior to coming to the Bar, Iwona performed worldwide as a concert violinist.
